Here at Go Fundy Events, our goal is to build guided outdoor adventures that allow our guests to experience some of the highlights of South-east New Brunswick.
Our active tours allow you to get up close and personal with the landscape, and our knowledgeable guides will fill in the time with stories of the regions past and present.
Go Fundy was founded on Kayak tours, for nearly 25 years we've been exploring the waterways of Southeast New Brunswick. Our flagship River Relics tour explores the river's terminus, a region critically important historically, the staging point for centuries of trade restricted by the strong currents of Saint John's famous Reversing Rapids.
We've since added tours exploring the smaller, but stunning, Kennebecasis River in neighbouring Rothesay, NB, as well as the largest ecologically intact estuary on the Bay of Fundy in Musquash.
In 2023 we'll be offering additional tours on the Saint John River, including:
1) a multi-day trip along the Lower Saint John River valley section of the Trans Canada Trail,
2) a half day trip exploring the Lower Saint John River Valley, with a paddle-up stop at Yip Cider
In 2020 we expanded into the cycling world. Our first bike tour, and the one that has become the most popular tour on our 2022 calendar, is a roughly 3 hour city tour on hybrid bikes, a tour that rides through the history of Canada's oldest incorporated City and includes scenic viewpoints (military forts), historic architecture, a little bit of science while learning about the power of the reversing rapids, and a mid ride stop for a recharge at Moosehead's new Small Batch Brewery.
In 2023, in addition to the city bike tour, we'll be offering a half day Bay of Fundy Coastal bike tour complete with scenic views, coastal villages, and maybe even a stop at a local restaurant.
Not to be overlooked, Saint John is a great city for a walking tour. If cycling and kayaking aren't for you, you're looking for something a bit more casual, or something guided and wintery, we offer multiple tours of the city's historic downtown, highlighting our deep Irish history, stunning Architecture, and a a geologic story dating back billions of years.
Looking to get out of the city for a walk in the park? Saint John boasts one of the largest urban parks in Canada, the opportunities for nature hikes are seemingly endless.
Snow season got you down? Why not look into one of our Rockwood walking tours as a Snow Shoe! Explore the park in a different light with an evening snowshoe tour by starlight and headlamp capped off with beach bonfire and a hot chocolate.
Interested in Geology? In 2010, South east New Brunswick became home to North America's First UNESCO Global Geopark. The Stonehammer Geopark is a 2500 sq km region with a billion years of history. From the beginning, Go Fundy has been proud to feature Stonehammer sites on as many tours as we can, telling the story and educating our guests about the rich geologic history of our massive natural playground.
Combined with our staff at Inside Out Nature Center, we offer a series of experiences that hel to highlight the unique geologic history of our region.
For the more adventurous visitor, our guides are happy to work on custom tours to suit your interests. All tours are dependent on guide availability, but custom tours especially so. The earlier you get in touch, the more customized the trip can be, and the higher the likelihood there will be a guide available for you.
Cycle tourism? Traveling with your bike? The region is a bike touring mecca in the waiting. Our cycling guides are regularly out exploring our beautiful coastal roads and river valleys. Not to mention the potential for gravel routes and backpacking is seemingly endless. We may even be able to swing a Fat-Bike adventure in the winter!
More experienced kayaker? Have your own gear and looking to get out with a more experienced paddler to help boost your confidence and skills, or looking to do a tour in the colder season? Tours can be adapted to different skill levels, and we can add some additional distance, combine tours, or create something entirely new.
