History Through Architecture Walking Tour

History Through Architecture Walking Tour

History Through Architecture Walking Tour

In 1877 Saint John was devastated by fire with virtually the whole city leveled. But reconstruction started almost immediately and the result is that now Saint John is blessed with some very beautiful structures.

In this tour we will explore the uptown of Saint John, noting the interesting features of the buildings along the way and how they played into Saint John's long and very interesting history.

We will see grotesques carved into a building spitting coins, carvings in another building of faces that infuriated the mayor of the day, Benedict Arnold's home among others.
